The forest started as a single hectare (3 acres) in 1998 and has grew to 15 hectares following an acquisition in late 2020.
With a second acquisition in the Summer of 2022, we have grown to 15 hectares - Nearly 40 acres!
With atmospheric carbon already causing climate instability, we take inspiration from Gareth Lewis’ book ‘Travail a la houe’. Work in the forest is carried out exclusively with manual or electric hand tools. Petrol (gas) tools and hunting are explicitly banned.
Looking forward, we seek to,
• Add paid staff to our team
• Develop sustainable funding streams from public and private sources
• Further expand our footprint
